Welcome to Women Build Nevada, a statewide Building Trades organization supporting and promoting women in construction and registered union apprenticeship programs! We work with NNACA, the Building and Construction Trades Council of Northern Nevada, and the Southern Nevada Building & Construction Trades Council to support and recruit more women into jobs that offer high wages and great benefits.

Join us to build leadership, discuss policy impacting tradeswomen, and find solidarity in sisterhood. All women in Northern Nevada's construction trades are welcome.

Eight Northern Nevada tradeswomen—from apprentices to journeymen to the almost-retired—talk about the realities of being a woman working in the high-tech building & construction trades.

"I joined the trades because I wanted to work with my hands and brain at the same time, and didn’t want to limit myself to typical “woman jobs.”" —Journeyman & Instructor Nicole Perez, Electricians Local 401, Reno/Sparks

"What inspired me to get into the trades was my mom—she's the strongest woman I know. And my daughter actually wants to be in the trades now too, because she sees how much money I make

and that I'm independent." —Journeyman Jessica Collins, Heat & Frost Insulators Local 16, Reno/Sparks

2019 BUILDING WOMEN EXPO

Every year during National Apprenticeship Week, the Northern Nevada Apprenticeship Coordinator's Association hosts the Annual Building Women Expo in partnership with local trade unions and Truckee Meadows Community College. Through talks and interactive demonstrations, this event introduces girls and women of all ages to the fantastic options available to them in the building & construction trades.

2018 was our best year yet, and we're planning to top it again in 2019. Stay tuned for dates and details, or join our mailing list to receive updates about this and other events and programs.
