A Great Weekend for Northern Nevada's Building and Construction Trades!

We were out in the community this weekend with the Building and Construction Trades Council of Northern Nevada to support local events and talk to Reno-Sparks families and students about earn-while-you-learn apprenticeship programs in the building and construction trades.

On Friday, we were out at the 2019 Construction Career Day at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, helping more than 1,000 Washoe County School District Students explore what it's like to work in the building trades through hands-on activities, interactive demos—even virtual reality! It was exciting to see the kids so engaged, with lots of questions for our apprenticeship recruiters.

Sunday we got out bright and early for the Education Alliance of Washoe County's Annual Run For Education. What an incredible day! At our table, we talked to folks in the community about good jobs in the construction field here in Northern Nevada, and handed out pink and yellow construction hard hats. It was very cool to see a sea of pink and yellow hardhats running in the crowd!

A huge shout-out of thanks to all of our community partners and trades affiliates who hosted, sponsored, or helped out at these events. We're lucky to have a community of dedicated people who care about the future of Northern Nevada's students.
